1956 Like every baby, I had my crying moments. With me, however, you could set the clock with it: I cried promptly from 12am to 1pm, every day again. I was inconsolable. My mother had tried everything, she had visited several doctors and was at her wits' end. She then decided to visit the Carmelite monastery. What follows sounds fabulous, but the unlikely happened: the advising strength of the fathers brought a solution. Shortly afterwards my systematic crying stopped.
2020 More than 6 decades later, of course, I do not remember anything about that visit to the Carmelites, but my mother's story has always stayed with me. In the early years with my wife I visited it again, call it "curious gratitude". When the monastery space in question was put up for sale, my wife and I never doubted. Our first steps into the Pilgrim's Loft felt like a nostalgic coming home, we were immediately sold.
Today we hope that this special place may bring you as much peace and happiness as it brought to us for all those years.
Enjoy your stay in the Pilgrim's Loft.
