Ypres. Historic destination in the Westhoek.

In the Middle Ages, Ypres was a world city and you can feel that pride when you are our guests: a cosy and authentic city centre, 17th century fortress walls, imposing monuments and world-renowned museums.

Those who walk through Ypres today cannot escape the war history of the city. Many sights remind us of the Great War from 1914 to 1918, in which Ypres was completely destroyed. A visit to the `In Flanders Fields Museum´ will tell you the story of this horrific period, but the most important and most visited memorial remains the Menin Gate. Ever since 1928, the `Last Post´ has been blown every night at 8pm to commemorate 54,896 missing British soldiers. An emotional experience that has made Ypres over the years to the city of peace par excellence.

Also curious to discover the warm character of this historic place?

The modern shops and cosy eateries offer a nice addition to the tourist offer and make Ypres the ideal destination to relax for a few days.
